This week I am studying about change. Life is constant change. That's a good thing. People change, hmmm not sure if that is good? When people change and our family and friends are not the person we used to know it can be hard. Many of my friends I have known for almost thirty years. Yeah, we've changed. During the past year I have thought a lot about how we have changed. I don't seem to relate to some of my friends any more, we have different views on life. That can be hard. But although things change, and people change, change is good.
I would like to believe that I have changed in positive ways. I have become aware of health care legislation and have began an interest in how politics affect not only health care, or me as a nurse, but everyone I know. This week I tagged along with my friend and met with Senator Morano about SB 99. And last night I spent time reading what Governor Strickland had to say in his state of the state address he made earlier that day. He talked a lot about change. I hope his changes have positive outcomes.
Although change is constant, some things will never change. I will always laugh until I cry with my friends, both old and new. I will never stop caring for someone because they have changed and I will value the people in my life for who they are and respect their differences and their changes.
Change is inevitable. I love to try new things and look forward to the many changes that lay ahead.
Spring will be here soon!!

STUDY BREAK!!!
After reading through a boring presentation on plagiarism it is definitely time for a study break :) I am all out my lite white berry cappuccino and although my heart is racing like mad, I feel like taking a nap. Maybe a little goofing off will wake me up.
This week has been hectic as usual, however I feel I have a much better handle on managing it all. It seems I have learned some things from last semester that I am now applying to my course work for this semester. Such as my very long paper on mandatory nurse to patient ratios. I sometimes have a hard time believing that I actually can contribute to an intellectual conversation that does not involve the topics of raising children or scrap booking. I am becoming nervous about all this knowledge I am gaining. I never cared less what was going on around me, and now I am identifying ways that I want to get involved to help make a change in health care (did I really say get involved???). I am beginning a ambitious list of things to do when I am done -I hope I can keep my enthusiasm.
On one discussion board we are discussing the changes that have occurred in health care since we have become nurses. This lead to conversation regarding the focus on prevention and health promotion. One person talked about getting credit from their employer for participating in healthy lifestyle programs. I love it. Those of you who have listened to me babble about my future ambitions know how much I would love to be part of a program like this.
Well I am going to play around with my site and see if I can some lists of sites, etc of what I like.
Thanks for reading and being a part of my life :)

Where does the time go?
I can't believe it's already almost a whole week into the new year! It seems like we (well Jim & the boys) just put up the trees-only two this year :( and today we packed everything up put it all way in the storage room until next Christmas. Which of course will once again come way too fast and be over even faster. I start classes back up tomorrow and didn't get any of things I was "going to do for sure" done. Panic of trying to do it all is starting to set in as I read through all of the course syllabus' and look at my work schedule and notice the dirty shelves in the refrigerator (I notice this because for the most part, they are empty, which means at some point I will have to go shopping-again.) There is a light at the end of my tunnel however, as in only four months I will be completely done with this endeavor! Yeah!!
I guess that's enough procrastinating for now. Over the next several months, you will be able to tell when there is something I should be doing, but would rather put off until later-anytime I update my blog:)

a new start
Well as we head into a new year I thought I would try something new...well something new to me; blogging. I am not really sure when I will really find time to "blog", or if our lives are interesting enough to even justify such a thing, but what the heck, it's a new year so I'll give it a go!
I am hoping to use this blog to keep in better touch with our family and friends and somewhat as a journal of our life happenings. In other words, don't expect many e-mails, just read my blog.
Some of our goals for the new year:

Some of our goals for the new year:
- get in touch with nature (confusing I know- since we camp at least 4 times a year!)
- get a new front door :)
- graduate with my BSN May 2008!
- get together with friends more often (very vague??)
- go on outdoor adventure trip (canoe trip?)
We hope everyone has a safe and very healthy new year!
Love,
Tone
